Confession of Sin

Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

The Absolution
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 134

Psalm 135

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD. Praise the name of the LORD; praise him, you servants of the LORD, ⁽²⁾ you who minister in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God. ⁽³⁾ Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant. ⁽⁴⁾ For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession.

Zechariah Chapter 13

⁽¹⁾ On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity. ⁽²⁾ On that day, I will banish the names of the idols from the land, and they will be remembered no more,' declares the LORD Almighty. 'I will remove both the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land. ⁽³⁾ And if anyone still prophesies, his father and mother, to whom he was born, will say to him, 'You must die, because you have told lies in the LORD's name.' When he prophesies, his own parents will stab him. ⁽⁴⁾ On that day every prophet will be ashamed of his prophetic vision. He will not put on a prophet's garment of hair in order to deceive.

⁽⁵⁾ He will say, 'I am not a prophet. I am a farmer; the land has been my livelihood since my youth.' ⁽⁶⁾ If someone asks him, 'What are these wounds on your body?' he will answer, 'The wounds I was given at the house of my friends.' ⁽⁷⁾ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!' declares the LORD Almighty. 'Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones. ⁽⁸⁾ In the whole land,' declares the LORD, 'two-thirds will be struck down and perish; yet one-third will be left in it.

⁽⁹⁾ This third I will bring into the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say, 'The LORD is our God.''

Ephesians Chapter 1

⁽¹⁵⁾ For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, ⁽¹⁶⁾ I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. ⁽¹⁷⁾ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. ⁽¹⁸⁾ I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

Luke Chapter 19

⁽¹¹⁾ While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once. ⁽¹²⁾ He said: 'A man of noble birth went to a distant country to have himself appointed king and then to return. ⁽¹³⁾ So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. 'Put this money to work,' he said, 'until I come back.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him to say, 'We don't want this man to be our king.'

⁽¹⁵⁾ He was made king, however, and returned home. Then he sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, in order to find out what they had gained with it. ⁽¹⁶⁾ The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.' ⁽¹⁷⁾ 'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.'

⁽¹⁹⁾ His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.' ⁽²⁰⁾ Then another servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth. ⁽²¹⁾ I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.' ⁽²²⁾ His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?

⁽²³⁾ Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?' ⁽²⁴⁾ Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.' ⁽²⁵⁾ 'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!' ⁽²⁶⁾ He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
