Confession of Sin

Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

The Absolution
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 4

⁽¹⁾ Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. ⁽²⁾ How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood? Psalm 7

Isaiah Chapter 1

⁽¹⁰⁾ Hear the word of the LORD, You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the law of our God, You people of Gomorrah: ⁽¹¹⁾ To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?' Says the LORD. 'I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams And the fat of fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of bulls, Or of lambs or goats. ⁽¹²⁾ When you come to appear before Me, Who has required this from your hand, To trample My courts? ⁽¹³⁾ Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. Your hands are full of blood. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, ⁽¹⁷⁾ Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.

⁽¹⁸⁾ Come now, and let us reason together,' Says the LORD, 'Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. ⁽¹⁹⁾ If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; ⁽²⁰⁾ But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword'; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

1 Thessalonians Chapter 1

⁽¹⁾ Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁽²⁾ We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, ⁽³⁾ remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, ⁽⁴⁾ knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.

⁽⁵⁾ For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake. ⁽⁶⁾ And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, ⁽⁷⁾ so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe. ⁽⁸⁾ For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Luke Chapter 20

⁽¹⁾ Now it happened on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, that the chief priests and the scribes, together with the elders, confronted Him ⁽²⁾ and spoke to Him, saying, 'Tell us, by what authority are You doing these things? Or who is he who gave You this authority?' ⁽³⁾ But He answered and said to them, 'I also will ask you one thing, and answer Me: ⁽⁴⁾ The baptism of John -- was it from heaven or from men?'

⁽⁵⁾ And they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?' ⁽⁶⁾ But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.' ⁽⁷⁾ So they answered that they did not know where it was from. ⁽⁸⁾ And Jesus said to them, 'Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
