Ordinary Time
Thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, 'I dwell in the high and holy place and also with the one who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.' Isaiah 57:15
Confession of Sin Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
The Absolution
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. AmenThe Invitatory and Psalter O God make speed to save us, O Lord make haste to help us O Gracious Light,

O Jesus Christ holy and blessed!
Now as we come to the setting of the sun
and our eyes behold the vesper light
we sing your praises O God: Father Son and Holy Spirit.
You are worthy at all times to be praised by happy voices
O Son of God, O Giver of Life
and to be glorified through all worlds. The mercy of the Lord is everlasting: Come let us adore him.
The Lessons
Psalm 141
(5) Let a righteous man strike me-- it is a kindness; let him rebuke me-- it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers; (6) their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken. (7) [They will say,] 'As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.' (8) But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge-- do not give me over to death.
(9) Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers. (10) Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Psalm 143
(5) I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. (6) I spread out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah (7) Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. (8) Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
(9) Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in you. (10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. (11) For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble. (12) In your unfailing love, silence my enemies; destroy all my foes, for I am your servant.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Zechariah Chapter 14
(5) You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. (6) On that day there will be no light, no cold or frost. (7) It will be a unique day, without daytime or nighttime-- a day known to the LORD. When evening comes, there will be light. (8) On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half to the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter.
(9) The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name. (10) The whole land, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem, will become like the Arabah. But Jerusalem will be raised up and remain in its place, from the Benjamin Gate to the site of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses. (11) It will be inhabited; never again will it be destroyed. Jerusalem will be secure.

Romans Chapter 15
(11) And again, 'Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and sing praises to him, all you peoples.' (12) And again, Isaiah says, 'The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him.' (13) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Luke Chapter 19
(32) Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. (33) As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, 'Why are you untying the colt?' (34) They replied, 'The Lord needs it.' (35) They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.
(36) As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. (37) When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: (38) Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!' 'Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!' (39) Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, rebuke your disciples!'
(40) I tell you,' he replied, 'if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.'

on the throne of your majesty, glory to you.
Glory to you, seated between the Cherubim;
we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever.
Glory to you, beholding the depths;
in the high vault of heaven, glory to you.
Glory to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
The Song of Simeon       Nunc Dimittis Luke 2:29-32
Lord, you now have set your servant free
to go in peace as you have promised;
For these eyes of mine have seen the Savior,
whom you have prepared for all the world to see:
A Light to enlighten the nations,
and the glory of your people Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.  He descended to the dead.  On the third day he rose again.  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,  the communion of saints,  the forgiveness of sins,  the resurrection of the body,  and the life everlasting. Amen.

Show us your mercy, O Lord;
And grant us your salvation.
Clothe your ministers with righteousness;
Let your people sing with joy.
Give peace, O Lord, in all the world;
For only in you can we live in safety.
Lord, keep this nation under your care;
And guide us in the way of justice and truth.
Let your way be known upon earth;
Your saving health among all nations.
Let not the needy, O Lord, be forgotten;
Nor the hope of the poor be taken away.
Create in us clean hearts, O God;
And sustain us by your Holy Spirit.
Seasonal Collect: Proper 29 The Sunday closest to November 23 Collect of the Day:
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but
first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he
was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way
of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and
peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. A Prayer for Mission:
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.
Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all
things in your well beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of
lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided
and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together
under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
